Mr. Michael Aust, Owner

Mr. Michael Aust is the President and Owner of 1030 Communications, LLC.  Established in 2005, 1030 Communications specializes in conducting effective safety presentations, training program and presentation development, as well as developing and conducting a myriad of HSE auditing process and inspections.

Mr. Aust has a Master of Science in Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Management and is a Certified Environmental Compliance Manager #5678.  He has been an Authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor since 2000.

Michael has provided safety management expertise since 1995. His extensive experience in the safety and health field has been earned from working in a variety of different types of organizations within the private sector.  He has developed and implemented HSE (health, safety, security and environmental) management systems for organizations without such processes.   He has also helped mature management systems for Fortune 50 and Fortune 100 companies.

Mr. Aust has provided auditing and training services for companies such as US Fusion, TopCor Companies, BP North America, Castrol, Honeywell, Gulf South Safety Consultants, XL Environmental Risk and The Commodore Corporation

CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS

- Successfully facilitated, managed and provided leadership for various management systems such as ISO 1400 and Responsible Care registration process.

- Obtained zero OSHA Recordable incidents in 2006. First time in the 25 year history of facility to obtain zero OSHA Recordable injuries within a reporting year.

- Successfully facilitated, managed and provided leadership for the Responsible Care 14001 registration process.

- Reduced OSHA Recordable Incidents by 40% within four year period.

- Successful implementation of the OSHA Outreach Program into the new hire orientation program.

- Implementation of sustainable visible management tools to promote HSE activities through development of HSE Sharepoint, weekly hazard recognition alerts,communication of various committee meeting minutes, regulatory and community events calendar.

- Increased employee engagement on an average of 64% by development of HSE management audit and inspection processes to increase hazard recognition skills from operations to site leadership.

Mr. Aust and his wife Johnna live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with their four children.
